Overview

Hyzer was created to bridge the gap between disc golfers and the information they need to make informed choices about their equipment. With detailed stats, visualized flight paths, and links to similar discs, Hyzer offers everything a player needs to refine their game. As a disc golfer myself, I saw the need for a modern, streamlined tool that could act as a single source of truth for disc data—and I built it.

Technology Stack

• Frontend: Built with Nuxt.js (Vue) and styled using TailwindCSS.
• Backend: Powered by Supabase for its robust database functionality and easy integration.
• DevOps: The site is statically generated at build time and hosted on Vercel's edge network.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the main challenges was assembling a comprehensive and accurate database of disc golf stats and visualizations. I tackled this by manually (painstakingly) collecting and aggregating data from multiple sources, including manufacturers and the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). The math behind visualizing flight paths wasn't the most intuitive, but anything is possible if you dig through enough forum posts.

Conclusion

Hyzer is a testament to my passion for building user-focused digital experiences. Combining my technical expertise with my love for disc golf made this project a blast to work on. With a relaunch on the horizon, I’m excited to see Hyzer back in action, serving the community once again.
